I am arranging a H2H tournament at York Uni on the 21st of May. Official details are still being decided but the current thinking is: 50m ranking round of 6 doz. arrows on 122cm face. Lunch. Head-to-head knockout competition at 50m based on the scores of the ranking round. The head-to-head round will be for recurvers only since there just aren't enough compounders to warrant a separate event. If they want to, they will be allowed to shoot the ranking round though, for fun. Entry fee will be £4 per person which will go towards trophies, medals, boss maintenance and target faces. Open to all university clubs, although preference will be given to NEUAL archers. Hoping this will blossom into something more for next year. Is Bradford interested?

I forwarded your email around on Friday, but only 4 people have got back to me yet. I'm guessing about 10 people will want to go, but no one replies to emails / message board during holidays.
Uni starts back again next monday, we'll have our first session on Thursday, I can ask them properly then.
If any Bradford people are reading this and are interested, please reply!

Well Done Everyone! Its great seeing york not get all the gold medals! ;D I like the idea of cakes on the shooting line.... I'll see what I can do for busa, tho they may end up being saved to go with the bbq The weather also held out quite nicely-I'm glad the rain only came once we hit the motorway! ( and thanks to hannah for her sunscreen-I didnt go pink!... this time )

Thanks for all your support and help yesterday, everyone! I really enjoyed holding the tournament (although didn't quite enjoy the trolley-loads of gear I had to shift back to the range yesterday evening and today) and I'm glad everyone had a good time! Not to mention the great weather we had for it! HUGE thanks to Dave, Ruth, Beckie, James and Lizzy for help shifting gear with me. And to Emily, Wendy and Lizzy (whistler and bringers of cake). I just wish I had been able to eat some of the cake! I'm glad of the way the results turned out (I would have felt bad winning my own competition) and well done to James and Dave E for knocking the 1 and 2 seeded archers.

Accepting the challenge to beat the NEUAL results, I have the full results for the York H2H available here. They are as an excel file. If anyone has problems opening it, let me know and I'll see if I can get around to an HTML version. Enjoy!
